Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School for Art + Design Families and Friends:

It is with mixed emotion that we share news of the resignation of our Founding Principal Jeffrey D. Flores.

Mr. Flores is moving on to launch a new high school, further increasing the number of high-quality educational opportunities available to San Antonio families. We will miss his dedication, compassion and leadership at HFA: ASAD and look forward to working with him for a brighter future for all of the city’s youth.

With a Class of 2013 graduation rate of 96% and so many students headed to high performing colleges and universities this fall, it’s clear that Mr. Flores has structured and nurtured a capable staff that is committed to the educational advancement of your children. Everyone at HFA: ASAD remains focused on preparing our students for college and careers with a rigorous academic program that is strengthened through developing skills and talents in art and design. That promise to you and your student is at the center of our work every day.

Henry Ford Learning Institute (HFLI), the school’s board of directors, has a process in place and will begin immediately a search for a new highly-qualified principal. A current staff member will serve as Interim School Principal until such time as a permanent school leader is identified. There is a great pool of experienced talent and we are confident that we will find the special person who is the right fit for our school.

We share in your excitement about our school’s upcoming move to its new home at the Alameda Theater and welcoming new students with the start of the school year. Please be assured that our principal transition will have no impact on our plans to realize that growth.

If you should have any questions about this transition, please contact me at dparizek@hfli.org or 313-720-4699. Staff is available daily throughout the summer at (210) 226-4031 to discuss any regular school business. We will continue to share updates with you through Facebook and the web site as they become available.

Sincerely,

Deborah Parizek
