Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School Families:
There are many measures of a school’s success. Today, a San Antonio Express-News article looked at how our school, and a number of others in San Antonio, fared on the new TEA ratings. As we reported earlier this year, our campus met all four accountability ratings for districts and campuses. However, because of an anomaly in the ratings, our single-campus district fell one point short of that same distinction.
At the beginning of the school year we put a number of new academic interventions in place at HFA: Alameda School to help our students achieve at a level that meets all expectations for a district and a campus in the State of Texas. In the meantime, we are working with the TEA to have the standard of performance applied fairly.
HFA: Alameda School’s success can be measured with other hard numbers. We graduated 100% of the Class of 2013 and 100% of those graduates were accepted to college. This year, our students also achieved an average composite ACT score of 21 and average combined SAT score of 1320. TAKS scores also reflect significant academic achievement for the Class of 2014 with the following passing rates: ELA – 98%, Math – 88%, Social Studies – 100% and Science – 94%.
We’ve had tremendous growth and success in academics, art/design, athletics, and theatre, and the development of strong culture of respect and tolerance. With the new year, we will also welcome our new principal and instructional leader, Mr. Wayne Boggs. Our entire school community – students, parents, teachers, staff and community partners -- can be proud of the strong support network we've built to help our students achieve at a high level.
HFA: Alameda School is unique, amazing, and worthy of consideration by every San Antonio family. If you have any questions, please contact me directly at email@example.com or 210-226-4031.
